  Brief History Of The Rewa City aka Vindhya Pradesh Rewa district came into existence on 2nd April 1948. Earlier it was known as north Rewa  district. The present district derives its name from its erstwhile ruling clan of Rewa as well as  Rewa town the district headquarters. It is another name for Narmada river, which is synonym  for Rewa.
